About the American Board of Longevity Medicine (ABLM)

Advancing the Specialty and Clincial Science of Longevity Medicine

The American Board of Longevity Medicine (ABLM) is a global organization dedicated to establishing longevity medicine as a rigorous, evidence-based medical specialty focused on extending human healthspan, preventing age-related disease, and improving quality of life across the aging continuum. ABLM believes that the future of medicine will increasingly focus on prevention, healthspan preservation, early risk detection, and biologically informed personalized care. ABLM collaborates with the American Board of Regenerative Medicine (ABRM) to provide a knowledge and capability extension into the Regenerative Medicine space under the umbrella concept of Regerative Longevity.

ABLM was founded to help define, standardize, and advance the clinical practice of longevity medicine through physician education, professional certification, scientific integrity, and ethical patient care.

As advances in geroscience, precision medicine, regenerative medicine, systems biology, artificial intelligence, and translational aging research continue to accelerate, there is an increasing need for physicians trained in the science of aging biology and evidence-based longevity interventions. ABLM seeks to provide the educational and professional framework necessary to support this emerging field.

Our Vision

ABLM envisions a future in which longevity medicine becomes an internationally established medical specialty recognized for its role in:

  • Extending healthspan and preserving functional independence
  • Reducing the burden of chronic age-related disease
  • Advancing preventive and precision-based healthcare
  • Integrating translational aging science into mainstream medicine
  • Improving population health outcomes across the lifespan

The organization aims to help shape the future standards, competencies, and educational foundations of clinical longevity medicine on both national and international levels.

Our Mission

The mission of ABLM is to:

  • Establish longevity medicine as a globally recognized and scientifically grounded medical discipline
  • Develop standardized educational and clinical competency frameworks for physicians practicing longevity medicine
  • Promote evidence-based approaches to healthspan optimization and age-related disease prevention
  • Advance ethical, responsible, and patient-centered longevity care
  • Support continuing medical education and professional development in aging science and longevity medicine
  • Encourage translational integration of emerging biomedical technologies into clinical practice
  • Foster collaboration among clinicians, researchers, educators, and healthcare organizations worldwide

Commitment to Ethics and Evidence-Based Medicine

ABLM strongly supports responsible innovation and evidence-based clinical decision making.

The organization advocates for:

  • Ethical application of emerging longevity technologies
  • Compliance with federal and local regulatory standards
  • Transparency in patient communication and informed consent
  • Critical evaluation of scientific evidence and clinical outcomes
  • Avoidance of misleading or unsupported medical claims
  • Patient safety as the highest priority

ABLM recognizes the importance of balancing scientific innovation with rigorous clinical standards and responsible medical oversight.
